Introduction<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gem Institute is the Laboratory and the Teaching Institute of one of the most senior gemmologists in Sri Lanka, Senarath B.Basnayake FGA, MSc. He has been a Gemmologist, Gem Trader and a Teacher since 1983. He possesses the Fellowship Diploma in Gemmology of the Gemmological<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gem Institute is the Gem Laboratory , Shop and the Office of one of the most senior Gemmologists in Sri Lanka Senarath B. Basnayake FGA,MSc. His work in the gem field include gem testing, certification, teaching and investment counseling, for more than 3 decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senarath B. Basnayake obtained the Fellowship Diploma in Gemmology of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A) and was elected a Fellow in 1983. Subsequently he passed the Master\u2019s Degree in Gemmology at the University of Peradeniya, the largest University in Sri Lanka. He has a Certificate from the Chartered Insurance Institute, London, and has also been commended by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
